Signs You Have Birds

Blocked dryer, bath or kitchen vents

Nesting material packed into a vent stops the airflow. A dryer that will not vent, or a bath fan that has gone quiet, is often a nest.

Chirping in the wall or chimney

Nestlings are loud, and the sound comes from a fixed point rather than moving around like a mammal would.

Droppings, debris and mites

Droppings below the entry point, straw and twigs on the ground, and mites that move indoors once the nest is active.

Hearing scratching but don't know what it is? That's most of our calls. We'll identify it during the inspection.

What Bird Removal Includes

A nest in a dryer vent is a real fire risk, because lint and nesting material combine and the appliance cannot exhaust. Remove the nest without fitting a guard and birds rebuild in the same vent within weeks.

Straight to the point, Mike was the best. A bunch of companies didn't want to take the job of getting rid of a bird's nest, but he made it seem easy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it legal to remove a bird nest?

It depends on the species. Some birds are federally protected and some, like European starlings and house sparrows, are not. The inspection identifies the species first, and the work is done accordingly.

Can you just remove the nest?

You can, and birds will rebuild in the same vent within weeks. The guard or cap is what makes the removal stick.

A bird is stuck in my chimney. What now?

That is a common call. The bird is removed, the flue is checked for nesting material, and a cap is fitted so it cannot happen again.

Are bird droppings a health concern?

Accumulated droppings carry pathogens and attract mites and insects, and dried droppings become airborne when disturbed. Cleanup is part of the job.

What about a blocked dryer vent?

A nest in a dryer vent is a real fire risk because lint and nesting material combine and the appliance cannot exhaust. It gets cleared and then guarded.
