Signs You Have Rats & Mice
Scratching inside walls at night
Rats and mice travel wall cavities, under cabinets and along joists after dark. Light, fast scratching in a wall is the most common first report.
Droppings and gnawed packaging
Droppings along baseboards, inside cabinets and behind appliances, plus chewed food packaging and shredded paper or insulation used for nesting.
Gnaw marks and greasy runways
Rodents follow the same routes repeatedly, leaving smudge trails and gnawed openings around pipes, vents and utility penetrations.
Hearing scratching but don't know what it is? That's most of our calls. We'll identify it during the inspection.
What Rodent Removal Includes
A mouse gets through a gap about the width of a pencil and a rat through one the size of a quarter, and most homes have several without the owner knowing. Trapping manages the population; sealing the structure is what ends it.
- Interior and exterior inspection covering the foundation, utility penetrations, crawl space, garage and attic
- Removal of the active population
- Identification of every entry point, including gaps around pipes, dryer vents and sill plates
- Rodent-proofing with sealed, chew-resistant materials
- Cleanup of contaminated nesting material where needed
- Warranty on the work performed
How It Works
- 1Comprehensive inspection. We find the animal and the entry points — rooflines, soffits, attic and gable vents, crawl spaces, damaged siding.
- 2Humane removal. Safe, proven methods to get the animal out quickly.
- 3Sealing and repair. We seal every access point and repair the damage, with a warranty on the work performed.
What Our Customers Are Saying
Acorn Wildlife was absolutely fantastic. Completely professional and quick service. My two technicians worked quickly and solved my problem.
Straight to the point, Mike was the best. A bunch of companies didn't want to take the job of getting rid of a bird's nest, but he made it seem easy.
Mike and Luke came by as soon as they can and keep us all at ease. Took care of our problem swiftly!!

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from a monthly pest plan?
A pest plan manages the population. Rodent-proofing removes the way in. Without sealing the structure, rodents keep re-entering and the treatment never ends.
Is it rats or mice?
Dropping size, gnaw hole size, and where the activity sits in the building all separate them. It matters, because the two species use different routes and need different exclusion work.
How small an opening do they need?
A mouse gets through a gap about the width of a pencil, a rat through one roughly the size of a quarter. Most homes have several without the owner knowing.
Do you use poison?
Our focus is removal and exclusion. Poison alone leaves animals to die inside walls, which creates an odor problem and does nothing about the opening they used.
Will they come back?
Not through an opening that has been properly sealed. The exclusion work, not the trapping, is what ends the problem, and it is what the warranty covers.
