Signs You Have Snakes
Shed skins indoors
A shed skin in a basement, shed or crawl space means a snake has been living in the space, not just passing through it.
Gaps at ground level
Snakes follow rodents through the same openings: gaps under doors, unsealed utility penetrations, foundation cracks and loose crawl space vents.
An existing rodent problem
Snakes come in after prey. Repeated sightings in one building usually point to a rodent population that also needs handling.
Hearing scratching but don't know what it is? That's most of our calls. We'll identify it during the inspection.
What Snake Removal Includes
Snakes come in after prey, so repeated sightings in one building usually point to a rodent population that also needs handling. Most snakes in South Jersey are non-venomous, and identification is part of the visit.
- Removal of the snake from the living space, basement, garage, shed or crawl space
- Identification of the species so you know what you were dealing with
- Inspection of the ground-level openings that allowed access
- Sealing of gaps at doors, vents, foundations and utility penetrations
- Assessment of any rodent activity attracting them in the first place
- Warranty on the work performed
How It Works
- 1Comprehensive inspection. We find the animal and the entry points — rooflines, soffits, attic and gable vents, crawl spaces, damaged siding.
- 2Humane removal. Safe, proven methods to get the animal out quickly.
- 3Sealing and repair. We seal every access point and repair the damage, with a warranty on the work performed.
What Our Customers Are Saying
Acorn Wildlife was absolutely fantastic. Completely professional and quick service. My two technicians worked quickly and solved my problem.
Straight to the point, Mike was the best. A bunch of companies didn't want to take the job of getting rid of a bird's nest, but he made it seem easy.
Mike and Luke came by as soon as they can and keep us all at ease. Took care of our problem swiftly!!

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the snakes here dangerous?
Most snakes in South Jersey are non-venomous and harmless to people. Identification is part of the visit, so you get a definite answer rather than a guess.
Should I try to remove it myself?
Not before it has been identified. Cornering a snake is how people get bitten, and a snake indoors is easier to remove safely with the right handling equipment.
How did it get into my basement?
Ground-level gaps. Under a door, through a foundation crack, around a pipe penetration, or through a damaged crawl space vent. They are usually following rodents.
It is gone now. Do I still need an inspection?
If it got in once the opening is still there. The exclusion work is what prevents the next one.
Do you relocate them?
Snakes are removed from the structure and handled appropriately for the species. The focus after that is closing the access so the situation does not repeat.
