Accessibility Statement
Acorn Wildlife wants every South Jersey homeowner to be able to read our guides, compare our prices, and request an inspection, regardless of ability or the technology they use. Here is what we have built for, what we are still improving, and how to tell us when something does not work.
Our Standard
We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, across acornwildlife.com. Accessibility is part of our build checklist, not an afterthought: new pages are reviewed against this standard before they publish.
What We've Built In
✓ Text and background colors chosen to meet AA contrast ratios, in every section including buttons and callouts.
✓ Keyboard navigation throughout, including a skip-to-content link, visible focus states, and a keyboard-accessible service-area map with labeled controls.
✓ Descriptive alt text on meaningful images, and empty alt attributes on purely decorative ones.
✓ Properly labeled form fields, a logical heading structure on every page, and link text that says where the link goes.
✓ Reduced-motion support: animations respect your device's prefers-reduced-motion setting.
✓ Text that resizes with your browser settings without breaking the layout.
Known Limitations
Some photos of job sites and older documents may have imperfect descriptions, and content embedded from third parties (such as maps or review platforms) may not meet our standard. Where a third-party embed falls short, we try to provide the same information in accessible form nearby, such as the list view that accompanies our service-area map.
