Wildlife Removal in Galloway Township, NJ

Galloway Township stretches from Pinelands forest to the tidal marsh of Reeds Bay, with the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge anchoring the Oceanville side and Historic Smithville, Pomona, and Germania scattered between. It's one of the largest townships in New Jersey, and most of it belongs to wildlife. We serve it as an extended area, scheduled honestly.

Galloway sits at the shore end of our service map with a habitat resume nobody else can match: the Forsythe refuge's 40,000-plus acres of protected marsh and woods on its bay side, unbroken Pinelands on its western side, and the Stockton University forest campus in the middle at Pomona. The neighborhoods in between, Smithville's lanes, Germania and Cologne's wooded lots, the developments off Jimmie Leeds Road, live surrounded by that wildness.

What We Get Called for Most in Galloway Township

Raccoons lead, which surprises nobody who lives near the refuge. Forsythe's marsh edge supports a dense raccoon population that patrols Smithville, Oceanville, and the bayside lanes nightly, and an uncapped chimney or open soffit return there gets found fast. Squirrel calls run second across the township's oak-shaded lots, with flying squirrels showing up in the Pomona woods. Bats take third, the big wooded tracts hold healthy colonies, and snake and mouse pressure rounds it out on the Pinelands side, peaking with the fall push.

Acorn Wildlife in Galloway Township, NJ is clear about what living beside a national wildlife refuge means: the animals aren't going anywhere, and nobody may touch wildlife on refuge ground. What we control is your structure. Sealed rooflines, capped chimneys, screened vents, steel at the foundation, and suddenly the refuge is scenery instead of a housemate pipeline. The repairs carry the Acorn Seal-Tight Warranty.

Spring

Raccoon litters along the refuge corridors; squirrel litters in wooded-lot rooflines.

Summer

Bat maternity season in the big tracts; snakes active on the Pinelands side.

Fall

The Pinelands mouse push into foundations; squirrels caching hard in Smithville and Pomona.

Winter

Attic-refuge season. Marsh-edge raccoons hold warm rooflines through the cold.

Five-Minute Checks for a Galloway Home

Check the chimney for a cap. Near the refuge, an open flue rarely stays vacant a full season.

Walk the foundation for gaps at utilities and the sill line before the fall mouse push.

Scan soffit returns and gable vents for staining and chewed edges.

Circle sheds and decks on the rural lots for burrow fans.

At dusk in summer, watch the roofline for bats exiting single file. They'll show you their door.

Any of those signs is worth the call, and extended-area scheduling handles it fine: the inspection is included, the entry map is photographed, and the quote is written before work starts.

Galloway Township Wildlife FAQs

How fast can you get to Galloway Township?
Honestly: Galloway is about 50 minutes from our Cherry Hill office, so it's a scheduled service area rather than a same-hour one. Most inspections happen next-day to a few days out, and we tell you your window when you call. Call or Text (856) 398-1028.
Who handles stray dogs and cats in Galloway Township?
Not us, we're wildlife only. For domestic strays in Galloway, contact the township's animal control or the Atlantic County Animal Shelter in Pleasantville. Call Acorn for the wild ones: raccoons, squirrels, bats, snakes, and everything else without a collar.
An animal from the Forsythe refuge is in my attic. Can you remove it?
Yes. The refuge's protections apply to refuge land, not to your house. Once an animal dens in a private structure it's a standard humane removal under our NJDEP license, followed by sealing the entry so the refuge's considerable waiting list doesn't send the next tenant. What nobody can do is trap or harass wildlife on refuge ground itself.
Do Stockton-area rentals in Pomona get more wildlife problems?
They see steady squirrel and mouse pressure, mostly because the campus woods sit close and rental turnover means small maintenance gaps linger. For landlords we document everything with photos, seal to the same warrantied standard, and schedule around tenants. A sealed rental near the woods stays quiet the same as any other house.
